Powder Keg Theatre Company is a bold new theatrical venture that aims to bring exciting and innovative live theatre experiences to the Delmarva area.

 

We’d like to introduce ourselves as your friendly neighborhood theatre-artists (performers, directors, designers, etc.), exploring the complexities of modern life through the production of boundary-pushing plays and projects not often staged in regions outside of the larger theatrical epicenters: New York, Chicago, Edinburgh, London, Philadelphia, etc.

 

We are gearing up to begin rehearsals for our inaugural production of Gruesome Playground Injuries by Rajiv Joseph (Pulitzer Finalist for his work on Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo [2010]), to be produced for a one-weekend run in February (2/14 & 2/15 @ 8PM) at Milford Senior Center in Milford, DE.

 

The play centers around the lives of Kayleen and Doug, spanning 30 years and jumping back-and-forth throughout time in a non-linear fashion. In this fractured rom-com, we watch as Doug and Kayleen intersect at the most bizarre intervals, leading the two childhood friends to compare their various scars and the physical calamities that keep drawing them together…

 

Ticket sales will only make up a small portion of our income, we want to be a theatre company that exists by and for the community — we will need your donations to get this thing on it’s feet and get cooking with theatrical magic!
