ABOUT PKTC

Powder Keg is more than just a theatre company - it is a space for Explorative, Evocative, and altogether Explosive Art founded under three guiding principles: Better Practices, Better Pay (Any Pay at All), and Better Stories.

We are committed to exploring how to foster a safe space for all artists to collaborate, led - first and foremost - by risk and curiosity.

Our mission is to create Bold and Explosive Art, igniting the imagination and collaboration of artists and audiences and inciting reflection on the complexities of contemporary life. We offer well-crafted and eruptive performances representing a range of voices, viewpoints, and styles.

Meet Our Team

Powder Keg Theatre Company was founded by a group of like-minded theatre artists (many of whom grew up together right here in Delaware!) and was born of a years-long dream to create a theatrical space in this area for the bold, evocative theatre that excites us, and excites audiences!

Our founding members have a long history of working together, and bring years of collective experience and training to the team. We are actors, directors, designers, stage managers, theatre educators and more, and have a wealth of experience in community, academic, and professional spaces.
